Urgent Notice from the Valiant Clan

There is an upcoming event that is rather disturbing that I wanted to let everyone know about. We have had a falling out in VAL, and one member has chosen to leave us. This is not news in and of itself, but he and a couple past members have decided to create a new clan using our old game server and old web domain. The issue we have is that they are using our name VALIANT and using the {VAL} tag. Already they have put up a website, and we are told that the game server is on the way. They have have been seen wearing VAL tags right on our own server. I don’t want to drag anyone in to this conflict unnecessarily, but I would like to announce that this new VAL clan is not affiliated with the VAL clan you all have known for so long. We oppose their use of our name and tag, and we want to avoid any confusion. Sorry that what should have been a private matter is being aired in public.

These members left VAL under less than favorable terms. One deleted our website and discussion board and has been getting past our security on the game server and the new discussion board ever since. The other left after deciding he didnt like some of the things that we had accomplished (while he was away playing different games for months) and tried to recruit many VAL from within the clan as he was on his way out. Of course, no one decided to join him, but we think that their decision to start a new VAL is a continuation of the bad blood that has passed between us already, and a very disrespectful act, not only to us, but to the UT community as a whole.

It is our hope that you all will oppose the action that is being taken against us, and discourage the use of an existing tag and a newly created, yet existing clan. It would be a dangerous precedent for all of us all to accept this with open arms. I know none of you would like to see your own tags violated in such a manner. We have seen alot of splitting before, but only resulting in the formation of new clans, never the beginning of a clan with the same name and tag. I would like to get some feedback on this; I don't think that we are unreasonable for being upset about it, because we are biased as being the current VALIANT clan:

yes, a separate distinction is encouraged, however, not one that ridicules or imitates the clan VALIANT that many of us have fought to make what it is, and many of you have supported and fought with and against in freindly competition on the battlefield. When the few leave the many and say that the many left them, that is just babble.

No problem Rang! We will be getting our new server at the end of this month. If I see people using the VAL tag and they are not on your member list... I will ban them as that is as bad as VSK ripping off maps/mods/mutators. To imitate another clan for your own personal crap is completely unacceptable.
